We now have a brown carpet in the living room, so I pretend that is my "beach" and walk around with bare feet to have a brief relax, especially when there is still fresh snow outside, like today!! I make quilts every year to raffle to benefit our Senior Center, so that would most likely be where this one goes.Elehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810669367811236766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361928362931005676.post-47995047417573446992013-05-02T13:21:03.621-04:002013-05-02T13:21:03.621-04:00Ohhhh, happy blocks:)Ohhhh, happy blocks:)Deehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05742634364206514422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361928362931005676.post-76288184187485498592013-05-02T12:25:02.585-04:002013-05-02T12:25:02.585-04:00Ever since I was a kid, summer vacation was going ...Ever since I was a kid, summer vacation was going to the beach, ANY beach, just GO!
Now it's still the same...I crave the sights, sounds, and smells clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05402136069342757245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361928362931005676.post-19238497461592186392013-05-02T10:59:09.854-04:002013-05-02T10:59:09.854-04:00As I kid, we went to the beach most weekends: Clea...As I kid, we went to the beach most weekends: Clear lake, Chain 0 Lakes, and especially Lake Michigan- my all time favorite lake!!!! For some reason even though we travelled to other states, we never went further West than the Dakotas or East at all, other than to Florida. My parents also had trailers and we travelled with our trailer wherever we went but while not travelling, we went camping each weekend. I don't know why we never left the camper there as I am pretty sure we were in the same spot every single weekend. My Dad would come home from work on Thrs and by the time he got there Mom had the camper all packed up and ready to go. Dad would hook it up to the car and drive us up there, then he would set the camper up for Mom. Mom didn't know how to hook it up or do the set up and for sure how to drive with the camper back then. She learned later how to drive though. My Dad would then stay overnight but get up really early in the morning so he could drive to work since he didn't get days off too often as he was a judge. Then Mom and us kids had fun on the beach all day long, Dad came up again after work and would stay there until SUnday night when he would once again do all that work to take us and the camper back home again. Just typing this makes me realize just how much he did for his family just so we could have one extra day at the beach that was at the campground. I still remember the old man who ran that campground. His name was Elmer and I still recall whenever he would wander past in his golf cart the smell of Pine-Sol would waft past our campsite because he cleaned the outhouses with gallons of that stuff I'm just sure. LOL He was a really old man back then but was such a great guy to talk to as long as you didn't get too close because even his clothes smelled like that Pine-Sol. He was like a Grandpa to all the kids who camped there.VickiThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16611232516583515409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361928362931005676.post-86958396808158790542013-05-01T12:17:26.492-04:002013-05-01T12:17:26.492-04:00I went to Seattle WA and seen the Ocean when I w...I went to Seattle WA and seen the Ocean when I was 11 and visited the Spaceneedle-what an experience
sewspecialladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07121064094881436068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361928362931005676.post-14241540236484625732013-05-01T11:59:44.233-04:002013-05-01T11:59:44.233-04:00As a kid we went to Hampton Beach State Park in Ne...As a kid we went to Hampton Beach State Park in New Hampshire.
