Mosaic Quilted Pet Portraits
A 3 Day Retreat at Whitney Lake

Whitney Lake is a small quiet lake in Hawley,
PA near Lake Wallenpaupack. I spent many summers here with my kids,
quilting whenever I could. On occasion I
now offer quilt retreats here for small groups of women that include
instruction, food and lodging. If the weather permits, we take morning walks
and eat dinner on the dock. With very
few distractions, other than blue herons, ducks and the occasional bald eagle, it
is the perfect place to foster creativity.
For the mosaic pet portraits, here are the
details:
* Instruction will be provided for creating
your own fabric portrait of your pet using a photo that
includes creating your unique, individual pattern, choosing fabrics,
beginning assembly with instruction for finishing and quilting
* I can accommodate 4 quilters at a time
* Lodging (There are beds for 4 split among
3 bedrooms and 2 full baths)
* All meals are included. (BYOB)
* Morning nature walks, if desired
* Arrive on Thursday afternoon for a light
dinner, get to work on Friday morning, leave Sunday after lunch.
* You provide the fabric, sewing machine and
sewing supplies.
* You will need to provide a clear hi res
photo of your pet and a wide variety of fabrics in many values to match
your pet’s colorations. Scraps are
OK. Tone on tones are great. Prints and conversation prints are good too.
Batiks work also. We will share.
* You will need to bring 2 yards of 60” wide
felt for a design wall (white, grey or black – depending on the color of your
pet)

Cost: $325/person
Please let me know if you have any
questions. Since there is limited space, slots will be filled on a first
come first served basis, including a 50% deposit with the final 50% due 30 days
before the class begins. If you have to cancel for any reason, your money
will only be refunded if your space can be filled. If neither of these dates
work for you, I will be happy to consider alternate dates if you can put
together a group of 4 quilters.
