What am I going to do with all those silk blocks?

This is my 12th and final block.  I love the layering of the flower and the buds and the circles inside.

This is one layout with all of the blocks:
But I really want a central design with the flowers around the outside:
It's just a question of what to put in that center panel. Hmmmm.
Do you have a favorite block?  I have a few.

  1. Hard to pick just one but I would have to say the top right block in both photos. I like the layers and colors of the flower petals and leaves. I like the center medallion layout too and am sure you will design a wonderful center.

  2. I love the idea of a center panel. If it were mine, I would build a cottage with a garden fence in a field of butterflies and smaller flowers. Love all these flowers - they are graphic and fun. I follow the Gourmet Quilter, and she did a wonderful mystery quilt last year called "That Garden Quilt" which is now available on her website and it had the sweetest birdhouse and bugs and butterflies. I think I would add elements from that quilt here. The flowers she had were of similar style; modern funky and FUN like yours. Check out that pattern at gourmetquilter.com and see if it might work here! Love the blue silks! What fabrics did you use for the flowers? Are they also silk?

  3. I would be inclined to make either a vase of flowers or a wreath using a variety (or variations) of your favorites from the other blocks.

  7. You just whipped those blocks out????? It's your next book! Gorgeous! I do like the idea of a central panel, and given how fast you work, I think it should be done in a half hour!!! They're all so gorgeous, I can't pick a favorite!
